Barry Becker, CEO
Barry Becker is the President and Founder of Panoptic Automation Solutions. By assembling an incomparable team of project managers, technical specialists, designer/drafters and natural leaders, Barry recognized the paramount significance of letting Panoptics execution and quality of work set precedence for automation standards in Western Canada. Barry held a number of high level management roles for ConocoPhillips and Devon Energy before forming Panoptic and understands firsthand the expectations of an automation consulting firm in the eyes of the client. Barry's responsibilities include managing the company's corporate finances, staying heavily involved in project management and project controls while maintaining a consistent interface with our clients.
Barry holds his red seal Journeyman certification in both Instrumentation and Electrical.
Brandon Russell C.E.T, President
Brandon Russell is the System Applications and Site Services Manager of Panoptic Automation Solutions and was one of Panoptics first key hires. Brandon has personally executed and managed projects from field RTU installations to 40,000+ bbl/d SAGD facilities. With a successful career in Alberta oil and gas automation, Brandon has extensive knowledge of a variety of control systems, practical experience and leads his team of specialists by example. Brandons responsibilities at Panoptic include managing day to day project execution tasks, managing Panoptics resource allocation, interfacing with clients and providing Panoptics business unit with ongoing progress.
Brandon is a SAIT graduate of the Instrumentation Engineering Technology program.
Shane Spencer C.E.T, Manager of System Applications
Originally from Burlington, Ontario, Shane Spencer moved to Calgary in 2009 with ABB as the demand for skilled automation professionals continued to escalate. Upon joining Panoptic Automation Solutions, Shane quickly worked his way up to Team Lead of System Applications and has become the foundation for technical knowledge on all ABB projects Panoptic has encountered. By developing training programs and providing on-site training for Panoptic employees and clients alike, Shane has helped established Panoptic as a primary ABB resource in Western Canada. Shane has experience in an assortment of systems and industries from pulp and paper, utilities, chemical and oil and gas.
Shane is graduate from Mohawk College with a Bachelor of Applied Technology in Process Automation.
Brad Rhodes, Manager of Strategic Initiatives/Corporate Services
Brad Rhodes has more than 30 years experience in the Supply Chain Management & General Business Management working in both the automotive industry and the Oil and Gas industry. Brad’s Competence is diverse in nature; Experience in leadership, strategy and planning, negotiations, tender, evaluate and award, requisition to pay, supplier and contract management, warehousing and inventory, processes and management systems including compliance, follow up, performance management, key stakeholder relations, and mentorship. Brad brings a strong understanding in project management, process and controls, finance, economics, business value propositions, Canadian bid and contract law. A fair and pragmatic approach with focus on collaboration and high quality satisfaction and delivery is essential. Brad’s experience allows him to bring a very professional, organized approach to all his work. His belief is to focus on delivery, but equally important is the culture of how that delivery is achieved; behaviors are very important to successful sustainable value contribution.
